2024 saw the retirement of the aging Alouette III helicopter from the Austrian Air Force or ‘Bundesheer’. Known for its consistent performance at high altitude, the Alouette was an important asset around Austria’s mountainous scenery. A special farewell event was held amongst the Austrian Alps at the Aigen im Ennstal base after 57 years of service.
